M Entertainment sues ITN for broadcasting “Asterix: The Secret of the Magic Potion”

COLOMBO (News 1st) - M Entertainment (Private) Limited the exclusive territorial rights owner of the Film “Asterix: The Secret of the Magic Potion” instituted legal action today at Commercial High Court Colombo against ITN seeking an interim injunction and damages amounting to Rs. 300 mn. The lawyers of the law firm Julius & Creasy, appearing for M Entertainment stated that ITN had violated their exclusive rights in respect of the “Asterix Film” by the unauthorized broadcast by ITN dubbed in Sinhala on October 19th 2019. After considering the submissions that were made, Commercial High Court Judge Ratnapriya Gurusighe proceeded to issue Notice of Interim Injunction and Summons to appear on December 2nd 2019 to ITN.
