Colombo (News 1st): The protest carried out by inmates on top of the Welikada prison for 3 consecutive days was called off today (November 14). The protest was launched by 2 inmates on Monday against the Presidential pardon granted to Jude Anthony Jayamaha, who was convicted in connection with the Royal Park murder.

The following day, another group of prison inmates joined the protest. They staged the protest on the roof of the prison complex. The inmates who engaged in the protest demanded they too be granted the presidential pardon and the four-year review be conducted.

However, the group had ended the protest by evening, yesterday (November 13).
