1. The National Elections Commission noted that a contingent comprising 17 foreign election observers are scheduled to arrive in the country today (November 12) and tomorrow (November 13) in the lead up to the Presidential Election being held on Saturday (November 16). 2. Postmaster General, Ranjith Ariyarathna says, any person who has not received his/her polling card, can obtain their relevant polling card through the post office situated in his/her area, until 5 pm on the 16th of November. 3. Two members of MP SB Dissanayake's security detail were further remanded until the 25th of November over a shooting which took place in Polpitiya, Ginigathhena. 4. The CID says it has begun an investigation into the fire that erupted in the President Security's vehicle yard, which destroyed a three-wheeler and 47 motorbikes. 5. The Attorney General filed a case with the Colombo High Court under 678 counts including murder, attempted murder and aiding and abetting in a murder against 14 Navy Personnel including Former Navy Commander, Admiral of the Fleet Wasantha Karannagoda. 6. Draft bill on Preventing Offences Related to Sports was approved in Parliament yesterday (November 11) without any amendments. 7. National Elections Commission says that 3519 complaints have been lodged so far regarding the Presidential election. 8. A 5 judge bench has been appointed by the Chief Justice to consider the petition seeking an injunction order against the signing of the MCC agreement. 9. Presidential Secretariat issuing a media release noted that MP Venerable Athuraliye Rathana Thero coordinated and spearheaded the matters on granting the presidential pardon to Shramantha Jude Anthony Jayamaha who was convicted for the Rajagiriya Royal Park murder. 10. 2 inmates of the Welikada prison protest against the release of Jude Anthony Jayamaha, the death row inmate who was found guilty of murder.
