Colombo (News 1sy): Several public rallies for Presidential candidate of the SLPP, Gotabaya Rajapaksa were held in Puttalam, Kandy, and Kurunegala today (November 11). The public rally held in the Puttalam town was organized by the Puttalam electorate organizer Chintaka Amal Mayadunna. The rally was attended by Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Mahinda Rajapaksa. Speaking at the rally Presidential Candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa noted that he visited China to observe and analyze the country's management system. He said he learned about their garbage disposal system, how excess water is removed from the garbage, and how garbage is burnt. He pointed out that technology used to dispose garbage has improved and he noted that the disposed garbage can now be used to produce fertilizer and power. He stressed that garbage disposal is an issue faced in all areas and technology can be used to dispose garbage within one's province. He said they would introduce this technology, and ensure the public will not have to face the garbage crisis again. Addressing a rally in Kekirawa Gotabaya shared his views on the human - elephant conflict. He said back then, civil defence force officers renovated the elephant fences adding that these elephant fences have been neglected at present. He noted that they will present a systematic action plan to solve this issue. Gotabaya Rajapaksa also stated that the government must identify the latest trends in the job market, and educate and train the youth to fulfill those vacancies. He went onto note that they must establish nurse training colleges as graduate institutes and must also improve subjects such as English and mathematics. He stressed that they must train the English and maths teachers as there are ample opportunities for these subjects overseas. He pointed out that they must identify these opportunities and provide the youth with relevant training.
