“I didn’t establish a new party like Mahinda Rajapaksa did” – CBK

COLOMBO (News 1st):- A public meeting named "Api Sri Lanka," organized by the Organization to protect the SLFP, was held in Kuruvita today (November 10).  The meeting was attended by former President Chandrika Kumaratunga. Addressing the event the Former President said spoke about the controversy surrounding the formation of the Organization to protect the SLFP

 "The party has now turned into a joke. I didn't establish a new party like Mahinda Rajapaksa did... I didn't obtain membership from another party. So I asked them to remove Mahinda before they talk about us. They have been quiet after that. Don't worry. Nobody can remove us. They cant remove our Pradeshiya Sabha members. There is a way to remove members. That requires a vote. We can delay it for 3 years." 

During the meeting, an individual who was in attendance at the meeting questioned CBK, "You ask us to vote for the swan. That is my problem. But how to do we vote for the party that murdered our leader Nalanda Ellawala?" To this claim, the Former President responded saying;

"Who murdered Nalanda Ellawala?  Everyone knows. When I was the president, I used to get messages, saying he will join my faction. He said he will join me if he was given an organizer position. But I clearly told that I will not get together with anyone who killed Nalanda Ellawala. Surangani Ellawala knows that. Nalanda's sister also knows that. I kept my word. But a year later, who joined hands with the man who murdered Nalanda Ellawala and even offered a Deputy Ministerial position? Mahinda Rajapaksa."
