COLOMBO (News 1st):- Presidential Candidate of the United Socialist Party Sirithunga Jayasuriya speaking at a media briefing held in Jaffna said;
"The main two candidates, Sajith Premadasa and Gotabaya Rajapaksa do not have different perspectives. They are conducting the same agendas. Therefore, there will be a mask exchange but not any change in their political perspectives. They do not have any solution for the national issues of the Tamil people of Sri Lanka. They do not adddress that issue in their agendas. Does either one of two say that in accordance with the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, the land and police powers should be given to the other provincial councils?"
He further claimed that in this last Jaffna rally he attended, whoever wins in this election, there will be a Sinhalese Buddhist government which could be a very dangerous situation since they are all leaving the Tamil people aside and simply lying to get more votes on their side. He further assured the people that 35 of the candidates are talking on behalf of the Southern Sinhala people.
