COLOMBO (News 1st) – Presidential Candidate Sajith Premadasa reassured, he will not do anything that will harm the unitary status of the country.

“I must state that I will not harm the sovereignty, political freedom, territorial integrity, and unitary status of the country. I would like to reassure that we will never move away from the unitary status of the country.” – Sajith Premadasa

The war heroes charter of the New Democratic Front, titled “Rata rakina deviwarunta gawrawaniya arambumak” was unveiled in Colombo today (November 07). Retired soldiers and differently-abled soldiers attended the event. The policy based on 10 points including national security, recruitment, training and development, sustenance and institutional structure, promotions, development of talents and professional proficiency was endorsed by Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa today.

UNP MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka stated that they will be dedicated to developing a welfare system, like never before for the three armed forces, police and the Civil Defense Force. Fonseka went onto state that there are some who speak fondly about the armed forces but failed to do anything while in power.

Fonseka also vowed to address the systemic delay in providing promotions for police officers.
