Man stabbed to death at Slave Island

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A man has been murdered in a two-storied house down Dharmapala Mawatha, which falls under the purview of the Slave Island Police. According to the Police, the murderer has been identified and investigations are underway to apprehend the suspect. Police suspect the murder has taken place last night between 9:15 and 9:45 pm. The victim, named Manoj Sudharshana, a resident of Homagama, has been killed after being stabbed with a sharp object. He is a 49-year-old father of two. The victim had been employed at a private insurance firm and the murder has taken place at the premises where he was living on rent. The Judicial Medical Officer's investigation has taken place this morning and the corpse is currently placed at the mortuary of the National Hospital. The Slave Island Police said investigations in search of the suspect are underway.
