"No political party has spoken about the indigenous community" : Uruwarige Wannila Aththo

COLOMBO (News 1st):- Leader of the indigenous community of Dambana Uru Warige Wannila Aththo commented on the attention given to them by Presidential candidates. Leader of the Dambana Indigenous Community, Uruwarige Wannila Aththo says;

"No political party has spoken about the indigenous community so far. We have lived in this country for 3700 years. These politicians have not thought about the history of this country and the rights of people who have been there throughout. Before and during the Perahera, the elephants are treated very well. They are given all the respect and reverence. Then, at the end of the perahera, nobody knows where they went and where they are. This is how politicians treat people as well. So we urge them to think about this community as well."
