Investigations into homicide of 18-year-old youth in Pannipitiya continues

COLOMBO(News 1st) - Sri Lanka Police is continuing to investigate the murder of the 18-year-old youth in Pannipitiya, during the early hours on Wednesday. Investigations revealed that the victim had visited a Private Institute in Pannipitiya, 20 minutes past midnight on a request of a friend. The victim's friend has called him as he was beaten by a group of people when he initially visited the institute and called the victim after the incident. When the victim arrived at the institute he was assaulted and stabbed. He succumbed to his injuries upon admission to the Homagama Hospital. Further investigations revealed that this was the result of a long-standing personal grudge. Police had arrested 10 people over the homicide and they were remanded by the Gangodawila Magistrate's Court.
