Weerakumara Dissanayake warns those who jeer them

COLOMBO(News 1st) - Media spokesperson of the SLFP Weerakumara Dissanayake issued a warning to those who boo and hoot at the rallies during a media briefing which was held at the party headquarters. SLFP media spokesperson Weerakumara Dissanayake noted that they are committed to seeing Gotabaya Rajapaksa hail as the president of the country. He added that they made this decision not only to protect the SLFP but the country as well. He noted that if any individual who attend their rallies with the notion of jeering at them, might end up getting beaten by the supporters that love them and the country. He further added that if there are any leaders directing them will have to treat the booers when they are attacked. Journalist: Does that mean you will bring armed groups to the meetings? Weerakumara Dissanayake: No, what I said was the general public will not remain patient if such things happen. Journalist: Won't Gotabaya Rajapaksa have a higher probability of obtaining leadership of the party, if he becomes a member of the party? Weerakumara Dissanayake responded that it would not happen as Gotabaya Rajapaksa is not a member of the SLFP. He further added that they do not intend to appoint him as the leader of the party, even if he becomes the President. He added that by the 17th, the acting Chairman will be removed and Maithripala Sirisena will be reinstated as the Chairman.
