Auditor General to investigate misuse of State resources for election activities

Colombo (News 1st): The Auditor General W.P.C. Wickramaratne has instructed all staff coming under his purview to investigate complaints of utilizing State resources for election activities as a matter of priority. He conveyed this through a special circular, issued on a request made by the National Election Commission. He further added that allegations of appointments being made to state institutions during the election period have also surfaced.
