COLOMBO (News 1st):- Presidential Candidate of the Janasetha Peramuna Ven. Battaramulle Seelarathane Thero expressed these views at a meeting held in Matara today (October 13). Janasetha Peramuna of the Presidential Candidate, Ven. Battaramulle Seelarathane Thero says;
"So far no candidate has put forward his manifesto before the general public. Why is that? They are scared to reveal their policies. The reason for that is because the problems that our country is currently facing can only be identified by the clergy. No one who hopes to serve the people has presented their manifesto. Our manifesto has been unveiled and shown to people everywhere. Today elephants are dying and they have no place to go. People have taken over all the lands on which the elephants lived on. Elephants in these areas do not have anywhere to go. The land belonging to the elephants was taken over by the people. That resulted in a massive increase in the human-elephant conflict."
