Presidential candidate Mahesh Senanayake arrived at Meera Makkam Masjeed

Colombo (News 1st): National Peoples Party Presidential Candidate Mahesh Senanayake arrived at the Meera Makkam Masjeed today (October 10). The Presidential candidate received blessings from the Nazar Moulawi and explained his vision. Speaking to the media he noted that they are working to achieve what this country has lost for 71 years, be it culturally or in terms of Unity, they are working to achieve this during a short span of time. He added that in his 38-year service in the Army he has met with a lot of people representing all walks of life. Senanayake said he was a fighter, but they must question as to whether they have achieved what they hoped for, in the past 9 years. He pointed out that people must be affectionate and respectful towards each other. He noted that an environment such as this should be created and only an independent President can achieve this. Candidate Mahesh Senanayake noted that he has only selected the peoples power and not a political party. He said this problem was created as a result of this party politics and added that in the future he hopes to create stake holders instead of members. He added that they will take the country forward through the unity of those stakeholders. He pointed out that this endeavor is not something that he has embarked on, with selfish intentions. "There should be a peaceful country for future generations to live, this country should shine again in the world," said Presidential Candidate Mahesh Senanayake.
