35 candidates for the 2019 Presidential election

Colombo (News 1st): 35 candidates will be on the ballot for the 2019 Presidential Election set for the 16th of November. Accepting of nominations began at 9am and continued till 11am. Half an hour was allocated for individuals to file objections against the candidates. 2 objections were filed but they were rejected by the elections commission. 35 out of the 41 individuals who placed bonds for the election submitted nominations and all of them are on the ballot this year. Kumara Welgama and Chamal Rajapaksa who placed bonds for Presidential Election did not hand over their nominations today.
