Colombo (News1st) – The Sri Lanka Freedom Party was set to announce their position on the upcoming Presidential Election today. However issuing a new statement this morning, SLFP spokesperson Weerakumara Dissanayake noted that the party’s position will be announced tomorrow.

Following last night’s central committee meeting of the SLFP, an announcement was made that the Party would express its stance on the Presidential election at a media briefing that was set to be held at 11 am this morning. Issuing a statement the President’s media unit, at around 8 am today (Oct 6), noted that the media briefing was cancelled.

Placing of bonds for the Presidential election is set to conclude at 12 noon today while the accepting of nominations will be from 9 am to 11 am tomorrow (Oct 7).
