I will introduce an agrarian charter between the president and farmers : Sajith Premadasa

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Polonnaruwa District Agrarian Summit was held this morning at the Polonnaruwa Buddhi Mandapa auditorium. Presidential Candidate of the New Democratic Front Minister Sajith Premadasa was the chief guest at the event. The News 1st correspondent noted that the agrarian community representing all divisional secretariats in the district were present at the meeting. Minister Sajith Premadasa noted that he would place an agrarian charter in the coming weeks. He further added that he expects to create a social agreement with the agrarian community by placing his signature along with their signatures for the agrarian charter which would include their ideologies. He added that this charter would enable the president and the farmers in the country to create a social agreement. He promised that the charter will assist him to carry out the most historic service to the agrarian community in the history of this democracy. He further promised that following his appointment within 48 hours he would assign two presidential task forces for agriculture. He added that these two presidential task forces will aid him in aligning all the ministries to impose the national agriculture policy in weeks. He added that he would personally commit to help the farmers achieve a proper price for their paddy. He went on to note that he would provide fertilizer at a more subsidized price and provide storage facilities in all the agrarian districts. He finally added that Sajith Premadasa's era of governance will be the golden age of governance.
