Grade 5 Scholarship exam results released: Cut-off marks announced

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The 2019 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination results have been released. The Examinations Department announced that the cut-off mark for the Sinhala medium candidates in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Galle, Matara, Kandy, Matale, Kegalle and Kurunegala districts is 159 while it is 157 and 156 for districts Hambantota and Ratnapura respectively. For Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Badulla districts, the cut-off mark is 155. The Commissioner General of Examinations Sanath B. Poojitha stated that the results could be accessed via www.doenets.lk Principals of schools in Colombo and Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte can collect the result sheets from the Department of Examinations after 9:00 am tomorrow (October 07). The Ministry of Education noted that the result sheets of the other schools will be posted to the respective schools tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, the number of students eligible to receive scholarships has been increased by 5000. Thereby 20,000 students will receive scholarships this year. According to the Department of Education, 250 students with special needs are among the scholarship winners. The department added that applications for recorrections can be submitted until the 21st of this month.
