Possibility of more thundershowers

Colombo (News 1st): The Meteorology Department noted that the possibility is still high for evening thundershowers over most parts of the island. The department noted that showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island after 2.00 p.m. The Met department noted that fairly heavy falls about 75-100 mm are likely at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, North-central, Southern and Uva provinces and in the Vavuniya and Mullaitivu districts. Due to the active cloudiness in the Western Sea areas, the met department noted that the possibility for heavy showers or thundershowers and sudden roughness, associated with a sudden increase of wind speed up to 70-80 kmph in the above given sea areas is high. Naval and fishing communities are also requested to be vigilant in this regard.
