Rainfall over 75mm to be expected in several parts of the island

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Met Department predicts heavy rainfall, over 75 mm, at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western and Uva provinces and in Galle, Matara, and Anuradhapura districts today. The Department also advised the general public to be vigilant during lightning strikes. A 54-year-old father of four died from a lightning strike in Monaragala yesterday (October 01). He had been in the garden when he was struck by lightning.
