23 tons of illegal polythene confiscated in the last 6 months

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Central Environmental Authority stated that during the past 6 months they filed cases against 400 individuals who manufactured illegal polythene.
The Director of the Investigation Division at the Authority, N.S. Gamage noted that 6000 raids they carried out led to the confiscation of 23 tons of polythene.
He added that the haul of polythene was destroyed at the garbage dump in Dompe.
