Colombo (News 1st) – Seven individuals have been injured in an accident at the 10th milepost in Karuwalagaswewa, Puttalam. A van which had been traveling from Vanathawilluwa to Nochchiyagama collided with a bus transporting Army soldiers from Thalawa to Puttalam.

Two buses transporting army soldiers have been on the route where one bus had attempted to overtake another leading it to crash into the van, according to the Police.

The injured individuals have been identified as women who were employees of a garment factory. Police stated that the injured are receiving treatment at the Puttalam Base Hospital adding that one of the injured is in critical condition.

It was reported that the bus driver was taken into police custody.
