Dengue epidemic in several districts

Colombo (News 1st): The National Dengue Control Unit says the spread of dengue across 7 districts has increased. Accordingly, the 7  districts are, Gampaha, Kalutara, Galle, Matara, Ratnapura, Kegalle, and Colombo. Director Dr Aruna Jayasekara noted that several special teams have been dispatched from Colombo to treat the patients in these districts. Nearly 45,000 patients have been diagnosed with dengue over the past year and 70 lives have been lost to the disease.
