Colombo (News 1st): The Attorney General today (September 17) informed the Colombo High Court that he is prepared to continue with the bribery case filed over allowing Avant Garde Maritime Service to operate a floating armoury, in the absence of the second accused, Avant-Garde Chairman Major Nissanka Senadhipathi.
The case relates to offering and accepting a bribe of Rs. 35.5 million to allow Avant-Garde Maritime Service to operate a floating armoury. Colombo High Court Judge Sashi Mahendran ordered for the case to be taken up on October 22nd.
Retired Major General Palitha Fernando, currently in remand custody was produced at the Colombo High Court today by Prison Officials. The High Court lifted the travel bank imposed on 04 people who placed bail for Palitha Fernando.
