Six suspects linked to Akuressa shooting remanded

COLOMBO (News 1st):- Six suspects connected to the shooting of two police officers in Akuressa and the theft of two T-56 firearms from the Panadura police division have been remanded until the 25th of this month. The order was issued after the suspects were presented before the Matara acting Magistrate last evening (September 12). The suspects include two army officers of the Panadura army camp. Three of the remanded suspects who allegedly shot at the police officers are due to be produced before an identification parade.
