Thirteen respondents of Avant-Garde case summoned to appear in court on September 27th

Colombo (News 1st) - The Permanent High Court Trial at Bar issued summons on Nissanka Senadhipathi, the Chairman of the Avant-Garde Maritime Services and 12 others today (September 12), to appear in court on September 27th. On Tuesday (September 10), the Attorney General filed the indictment at the Permanent High Court Trial at Bar for the High Seas Arms Trafficking Case of MV Avant Garde involving Nissanka Senadhipathi and 12 others in respect of 7573 charges. These charges include the illegal possession of 816 automatic firearms and 202,395 live bullets aboard the MV Avant-Garde without any legal document. This is reportedly the first case where the Attorney General has filed an extremely large number of charges.
