Colombo (News 1st): JVP Politburo member K.D. Lalkantha said the JVP would support a proposal which proposes a parliamentary system. He noted this when journalists questioned about the rumours on an attempt to re-establish a Prime Ministerial system.
Lalkantha noted that they prefer a Parliamentary Administrative System over a Prime Ministerial System. He said if the discussion is for that, they would support it. He added that their party appeared for that since 1978.
He added that if they would move towards the 20th Amendment to the Constitution or if they would propose to do away with the Executive Presidency and move towards the Parliamentary System their party would support it.
