Colombo (News 1st): Concerns were raised whether the SLFP - SLPP coalition attempts would stall as a result of an issue on the party symbol. Speaking to the media UPFA MP Kanaka Herath noted that they are continuing with their discussions. He added that the seventh round of talks ended and the next will take place soon. The Parliamentarian noted that they do not know about the SLFP top tier, however, noted that the grassroots wish to join with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna. Speaking about the matter Uva Province Chief Minister Chamara Sampath Dassanayake noted that the SLFP was like an All-Sale store. He said they are seeking the post of the cashier, bookkeeper or owner of that store. Sadly, he said two of their members had gone there recently and they were given the cleaning service job. He noted that because they cannot do that particular job, they hope to get an opportunity for something else. Adding to this Leader of the Democratic Left Front Vasudeva Nanayakkara noted that when Mahinda Rajapaksa becomes the Prime Minister, the next government would be a Mahinda - Gota Government. He said if Maithripala Sirisena wishes to protect the identity of his party and the membership, he can do as he pleased. However, he added that if a red notice is flared to change the symbol, that would be an issue. He pointed out that identity does not prevail with a symbol.
