Kanjipani Imran further remanded over death threats to a police officer

Colombo (News 1st) - Colombo Magistrate Court ordered the organized criminal, Kanjipani Imran to be remanded until September 20th today (September 09). This was in relation to death threats to a police officer. It was reported that Nishan Pathum Kumara who is the Inspector in charge of the Vice Division Branch attached to Keselawatta Police Division received death threats via phone following the arrest of a 36-year-old named Kemadasan Dushyanthan along with 20g of heroin in the Keselwatta area in January. According to the police, the Inspector was threatened, demanding the release of the suspect. However, the Inspector recorded the call and produced it before the court. The case was taken up before the Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne today.
