Non academic trade unions' demands still not met

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Non-Academic Trade Unions of state Universities have stated that the Ministry of Higher Education has not taken any steps to meet their demands. The Chairman of the union, Dhammika.S. Priyantha said that they conducted a token strike to urge the ministry to take action regarding their demands and despite this action, the authorities are yet to respond. P.K. Mayadunne, secretary to the Ministry of Higher Education speaking on the matter stated that he has already requested a meeting with the Ministry of Finance over the matter.
