WHO team arrives to inspect progress on prevention of HIV transmission

COLOMBO (News 1st):- A team of the World Health Organization (WHO) has arrived in the country to inspect the progress of the measures taken by Sri Lanka to prevent the transmission of HIV Aids from the mother to her offspring. Director of the STD / AIDS Control Unit at the Ministry of Health, Specialist Dr. Rasanjali Hettiarachchi states that following these inspections that the country will be named as a country that prevented the transmission of HIV from the mother to her offspring. She further said that presently the transmission has been successfully controlled in the country.
