Colombo (News 1st): Minister Mangala Samaraweera speaking in Jaffna said the people have already chosen the candidate for the United National Party. He noted that wherever they go, the people call for Sajith Premadasa. He pointed out that the request was clear in Badulla, Matara and even in Kurunegala which is also represented by Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The Minister added that they witnessed the attendance of a record crowd in Kurunegala. He said when reaching the North by train he was amazed to find the pictures of the work carried out by Minister Sajith Premadasa. He went onto note that therefore, there is no need to have a selection for the UNPs Presidential Candidate as the people have made their choice.

He noted that they hope to launch a victorious election campaign taking note of the people’s request. The Minister made these comments upon reaching Jaffna by train for the Enterprise Sri Lanka program which will take place from tomorrow (September 07) to Monday (September 09).
