Indictments filed against Sajin de Vass Gunawardena

Colombo (News 1st): Indictments were filed against former MP Sajin de Vass Gunawardena at the Colombo High Court today (September 5). They were filed based on charges leveled by the AG's Department, claiming that he earned a sum of Rs. 320 million during his tenure as a MO through illegal means. Colombo High Court Judge Gihan Kulatunga released Gunawardena on bail for two sureties of Rs. 5 million and another of Rs. 500,000. The Court also ruled that Gunawardena hand over his passport to the court. The case will be taken up once again on October 1st.
