Gota and MR attend samurdhi trade union meeting

Colombo (News 1st) - The Presidential Candidate of the SLPP attended The Samurdhi Trade Union Representative Summit today (September 3). Gotabaya Rajapaksa was the first person to attend the summit and following a warm welcome he addressed the gathering. The Presidential Candidate of SLPP highlighted that he had studied the mechanisms adopted by other countries on how to move the people away from poverty. He added that he had received an invitation from China last year to do research on eradicating poverty in China. "What kind of an income can you earn from cultivating Moringa? I met a young person. He makes cordial from watermelon and exports it", he continued. He further added that many such instances can be seen around the world emphasizing on another youth who was from his school. He mentioned that the youth had failed his Advanced Levels but earns a huge amount of money by uploading video games that he plays with his friend. "If you have children, let them know that they can earn money by playing video games", he continued. At the conclusion of Gotabaya Rajapaksa's speech, Leader of the SLPP, Mahinda Rajapaksa attended the summit. Speaking at the event, Leader of SLPP, Mahinda Rajapaksa added, "all of you were semi-public officials. I believe that all of you will be promoted as permanent public officials. Am I right?" He highlighted that the name of the newly established department "Divi Neguma", has been changed. He reasoned that these people even change the names that they have put. He further added that it is a major thing to simply change the name in four years as they had to face many obstacles when they initiated "Divi Neguma." He emphasized that cases were filed against the departmental draft and they were able to establish that department.
