Colombo (News 1st): Former Minister Sajin Vaas Gunawardena convening a media briefing yesterday (August 29) noted that they cannot forget the past. He noted that he too was a part of that history and the political mistakes they made in the past cannot be rectified. He added that the ambition of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna is winning elections and protecting a certain generation. He hopes to engage in politics in the future but has already decided not to join the Pohottuwa. Gunawardena pointed out that he knows a lot of things that other people do not know and that he took this decision based on that information that he knows. He said in the future when the time comes he will reveal the truth behind all of this. He went onto note that he knows about what happened better than all the heroes of the Podu Jana Peramuna. He said he will not betray the people who were close to him, but noted that he knows what is correct and what is wrong politically, and he exactly knows what is happening here on the inside. Former Minister Sajin Vaas Gunawardena also spoke about the political parties in the country, he said this country has only two parties for their future, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, and the United National Party.  He added that the solution offered by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna is one that will protect and pass on political power from one generation of a certain group to another generation and how they are to pass time in the interim.
