Trials at bar appointed for 3 major cases

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya appointed 3 three-member Trials-at-Bar to hear cases on the Rathupaswala Shooting, the enforced disappearance of Prageeth Ekneligoda and the Avant-Garde Floating Armoury. On the application of Attorney General Dappula de Livera, Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya appointed a Trial-at-Bar in the Rathupaswala Shooting case led by Justice Menaka Wijesundara and will comprise Justices Nimal Ranaweera and Nishantha Hapuarachchi. The Chief Justice appointed a Trial-at-Bar in the Ekneligoda abduction and disappearance case led by Justice Sampath Abeykoon and will comprise Justices Sampath Wijeratne and Gihan Kulatunga. The Chief Justice appointed a Trial-at-Bar in the Avant-Garde High Seas Arms Trafficking Case led by Justice Dhammika Ganepola and will comprise Justices Adithya Patabandige and Manjula Thilakeratne.
