Wind speed to increase over the coming days

COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Department of Meteorology states that the wind speed over the coastal area from Hambantota-Pottuvil could increase up to 55-60 kmph. Issuing a weather advisory for strong winds and rough seas, the department states that the coastal area could get rough intermittently. The wind speed from Puttalam - Mannar to Kankesanthurai across Trincomalee is also forecasted to increase to 50-60 kmph. Temporary strong winds of 70-80 kmph with thundershowers could also be experienced. The department urges naval and fishing communities to take extra caution due to the prevailing condition.
