Signature campaign demanding Sajith Premadasa as presidential candidate

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A Dhamma school building in Colombo district was vested with the public yesterday (August 21) under the auspices of Deputy Leader of United National Party Minister Sajith Premadasa. The building which was constructed under Sisu Daham Sevena program at the Dola-Ihala Sri Vivekarama Viharaya in Hanwella, Kosgama was vested with the public yesterday morning. The building which was constructed at a cost of Rs 4mn from the Central Cultural Fund is inclusive of all facilities. Minister Sajith Premadasa stated that several political figures are deceiving the public with false priorities while all they seek is personal benefit. He added that Sri Lanka is at a crucial point to set aside those who work for their personal gain and appoint a leader who would think of the common man and eradicate poverty. He went on to note that with the right decision made in November, he will assure a satisfactory time period for the public. Meanwhile,  a program to obtain signatures demanding to nominate Deputy Leader of the United National Party Minister Sajith Premadasa as the presidential candidate was held in Dehiwala yesterday. The event was organized by Gajasavi Socialist Front and it was focused to obtain more than 2 million signatures. Wimanga Wickremearachchi, Treasurer of the Gajasavi Socialist Front noted that they are carrying out the campaign island-wide and they have already acquired 600,000 signatures and demanded the UNP to appoint the presidential candidate the people want: Sajith Premadasa.
