Mother who threw her new born into a reservoir arrested

Colombo (News 1st): A mother of two, who is suspected of throwing a new-born into the Castlereagh Reservoir was arrested by the Hatton Police Crimes Division. Investigations uncovered that the woman had thrown the new-born into the Dik Oya Canal on the 14th of August. A group thereafter had witnessed the body of the new-born floating on the Castlereagh Reservoir and alerted the Hatton Police. The body was handed over to the JMO attached to the Dik Oya Base Hospital for the post-mortem examination and mother of the child was also admitted to the same hospital. She will be produced before the Hatton Magistrate's Court thereafter.
