"Sajith Premadasa is an honest man who is not involved in corruption": President

COLOMBO (News 1st):- Three villages constructed under the "Samata Sewana Yali Pibidena" Uda Gammana program was vested with the public today (August 18). President Maithripala Sirisena was the chief guest at the event as per an invitation extended by the Deputy Leader of the United National Party Minister Sajith Premadasa. The Kotaraalagama that was constructed in Soriwila, and the Jeewahaththa Gama and Disaalagama villages constructed in Dalukola were declared open today (August 18). A total of 66 houses were constructed in the villages at a cost of Rs. 69.1 million. The President speaking at the event said that he has been part of many governments in this country and that he knows an honest politician and he knows those who are not. President Sirisena says that in such a backdrop that Sajith Premadasa is the ideal person who knows the needs of a common man, lives with both feet planted on the ground and is free of corruption. Speaking about the imposition of the Ccent and the opposition had taken to the streets against it. But, he said that whoever contests the elections must make a pledge before the people to take steps to eradicate the drug menace from the country, and also impose capital punishment on the drug traffickers. Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa himself speaking at the event said that there is no room for a neo-liberalism amidst the majority of the village community and that the only way to govern the country is through demand and supply. He further said that state affiliation is prohibited, the government cannot poke their fingers and that everything should happen under the forces of the market. However, he also questioned what will become of the people of the country and the farming communities if neo-liberalism comes to be. Premadasa assures the people that the neo-liberalism will be thrown away and form a mixed economy which brings entrepreneurship to the spotlight and create a just economy which caters to all people equally. Meanwhile the foundation stone of the Siripura Sri Isipathanarama Temple in Rathmalkandiya, Polonnaruwa was laid by President Maithripala Sirisena and Deputy Leader of the UNP, Sajith Premadasa. Also speaking State Minister Vasantha Senanayake said that they embrace Sajith Premadasa as the most talented minister in the cabinet. He further said that there are certain people who pretend not to hear the massive voices of the people, the people in Colombo 7 act as they do not hear or see it. The State Minister says that if the people in Colombo 7 are not ready to hear the same voice that is awakened in the village that they will make sure to take them to the village. He also said that the people who will not allow democracy to prevail in the country could see how this battle could be won and they hope of seeing a leader who can take this country to a better place by 2020.
