Navy haul for 2019 : 452 kg of heroin and much more illegal drugs

COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Navy states that 452kg of heroin was taken into their custody within the year. The hauls of heroin were reportedly seized from within the country and during attempts to smuggle it illegally into the country. Further, 2397 kg of Kerala cannabis (KG), 3 kg of local cannabis, 29,009 kg of beedi leaves, 6800 ecstasy pills, 802 toxic pain killer tablets, 8410 illegal cigarettes and a kilogram of hashish were also taken into custody within this period. During a raid conducted by the Navy yesterday (August 16) 1.5 kg of ICE was discovered from Uurmale, Talaimannar. The Navy states that these operations to suppress drug trafficking within and in the borders of this country will be continued rigorously.
