Mahinda, better competition to UNP than Gotabaya : S.M.Marikkar

Colombo (News1st) - The renovated Sri Sudharama Road in Colombo was vested with the public today, under the auspices of UNP MP S.M.Marikkar. Journalists raised a question regarding the claims of the opposition that the current government had failed to do anything and is not qualified to reach the people. "What qualification does the opposition have? Was it the murders they committed? Or the murder of Roshen Chanaka and Lasantha Wickremetunga? Or was it the MiG deal? Or building graves for their parents from public funds? Or the separation of train compartments? Or the import of carom boards with public funds? ", he asked in response to this. He further highlighted that the mistakes of their government are that those who should be in prison have become heroes. Another question was raised regarding how Gotabhaya Rajapaksa as the candidate of the opposition affects them, to which he replied that there is no competition with Gotabaya Rajapaksa but if Mahinda Rajapaksa was fielded as the candidate there would have been some competition.
