Massive rally in Kandy demanding Sajith for President

COLOMBO (News 1st): A group of UNP local government representatives and party members organized a rally in Kandy today (August 16) to pledge their support to Sajith Premadasa. The rally was organized to demand the leadership of the United National Party to present Sajith Premadasa as the party's presidential candidate. The supporters had reportedly marched across the Kandy town. Speaking at the support rally, former Provincial Councillor of the UNP Shantha Kahawala claimed that it will be none other than Sajith Premadasa who will become the President of the country by the end of this year in December. The supporters who were gathered at the event said that even if their blood is shed that they will bring in Sajith Premadasa who has understood the grievances of the poor people of the country. They further say that this opinion comes from the grass root levels of the country.
