Living condition of the estate workers must be uplifted : Gotabaya Rajapaksa

COLOMBO(News 1st) - Presidential Candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa and several others paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic this morning(August 14). They also visited Malwatte Viharaya to call on the Mahanayake of the Malwatte Chapter Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero and engaged in a cordial discussion. Later, they called on the Mahanayake of the Asgiriya Chapter Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero and obtained blessings. Following their visit to the Anunayake of the Malwatte Chapter Most Venerable Dimbulkumbure Wimaladhamma Thero, the party including the presidential candidate visited the Selva Vinayagar Hindu Kovil in Kandy. Gotabaya Rajapaksa noted that he and his government would focus on uplifting the livelihood and the wages of the estate workers, unemployed youth and provide proper housing. The group then visited the Meera-Makkam mosque and the presidential candidate of the SLPP Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa and the others were warmly welcomed at the mosque.
