UNP will win upcoming elections regardless of which Rajapaksa competes : Chandima Gamage

Colombo(News1st) -  The 246th model village constructed in Anuradhapura, under the Samata Sevana Yali Pibidena Uda Gammana housing program was vested with the public today. This model village named "Saa Dasungama" constructed in the Thirippane, Dematagama consists of 28 housing units. The model villages were declared open by the Deputy Leader of the UNP, Minister Sajith Premadasa. This model village was constructed at an expense of Rs. 27.9 million including all infrastructure facilities. Minister Sajith Premadasa addressed the gathering during the event. He recollected the war heroes who saved our country from a three-decade war and those who have sacrificed their lives for the country, raising a question of whether we have fulfilled our duties towards them. He mentioned that he intends to change the "shameless" system of demanding money from the war heroes when they were to be given a piece of land. He further clarified that "the lands we provide to war heroes, in the RANVIRU villages is free of charge" and guaranteed that he would protect the war heroes who fought for the country. Minister Sajith Premadasa claimed that he would serve the people of Anuradhapura and all citizens of Sri Lanka if he was granted the opportunity of becoming the president of Sri Lanka. Speaking at the event few UNP ministers expressed the following thoughts. UNP MP Chandima Gamage stated that regardless of which Rajapaksa who is named to compete, the UNP would win the upcoming elections. He further mentioned that they are currently in the process of forming a suitable environment for Sajith Premadasa regarding the presidential election. Minister of Women and Child Affairs, Chandrani Bandara emphasized that despite all differences, every Sri Lankan wants Sajith Premadasa for the upcoming presidential elections. She further added that we must stand together with our people and fulfil their requests if they want a specific person as their leader irrelevant as to whether it is Gotabaya or anyone else.
