Removal of garbage from Colombo hampered due to the weather

Colombo (News 1st): Removal of garbage which has accumulated in Colombo Municipal Council area has been hampered further due to rain. Municipal Commissioner Palitha Nanayakkara said, transporting garbage to the Aruwakkalu dumpsite will be delayed further. He added strict legal action will be taken against those who discard garbage in an improper manner. Municipal Commissioner Palitha Nanayakkara also said, 500 to 600 metric tonnes of garbage accumulates on a daily basis within the limits of the Colombo Municipal Council.
