Navy uncovers 388 Conch shells in Mullaitivu

Colombo (News 1st): The Sri Lanka Navy has uncovered 388 conch shells during a search operation carried out in Putumattalan in Mullaitivu. The Navy said the shells were found hidden in the sand. According to the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Act the possession, buying, displaying with the intention of selling, transporting or exporting of conch shells which are less than 70 mm in diameter, has been banned.
