Colombo (News 1st): Minister of Telecommunication, Foreign Employment and Sports Harin Fernando expressing his views at a media briefing today (August 8) noted that there are reports that a meeting will be held on the 12th. He noted that Sajith Premadasa will come to Hali-Ela, Badulla to declare open a loan and a housing program. Minister Harin said he will be conducting a meeting for Sajith Premadasa's arrival because Badulla is his electorate. The Minister added that it is up to the people to decide if Sajith Premadasa becomes president or not. He noted that some had gone and requested for his ministerial post to be removed, however, he notes he will stand strong on Sajith's side - that is the winning side. He personally thinks that the UNP will fall into trouble if they don't follow a young vision and it is better to have a 52-year-old 'youth' doing this than a younger or an elder brother doing it. He said some might wonder why 52 years is considered young when compared to 70-year-olds, 52 is a young age. Therefore Minister Harin Fernando believes that a 52-year-old 'youth' and someone who works day and night for politics is good for the country. He added that if Sajith doesn't contest, he will take a small break of 5 years.
