Colombo (News1st) – Victims of the financial fraud committed by Blue Mountain staged a protest today opposite the head office of the company at Kirulapona. They charge that Blue Mountain committed financial fraud when selling lands in several parts of the country.

Blue Mountain has mortgaged properties to banks and sold it back to the people which resulted in these people losing property and their money.

News 1st spoke to a few people at the protest to give their stories an opportunity to be told.
One person said, “I’m from the Capriole project in Malabe. In 2016 around Rs 11 million was paid, but my deeds have not been released. Hiran Hettiarachchi said that this issue will be solved within a week. He has been lying all along”.

Another continued, “I came here to get my land deed to enrol my child to school. They did not even consider my issue. I will not be able to enrol my child to school next year”

People claim that they have not received any form of support from the government, politicians or the Central Bank.
Complaints have been lodged in this regard and court proceedings are ongoing.
