One shot dead in Kohuwala

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A person was killed in a shooting that occurred around 1.10 am dawn in Jambugasmulla, Kohuwala. According to the Police, two unknown personnel have fled the scene after shooting two people travelling in a jeep. One of the victims succumbed to injuries following admission to Kalubowila hospital. The deceased, the driver of the jeep was a 38-year-old resident of Udahamulla. The remains of the victim lie at the Kalubowila hospital. Police noted that the other person who sustained injuries has been transferred to the National Hospital for further treatment. Police have commenced further investigations into the incident.
